Countdown’s Rachel Riley tells George Galloway to 'F*** OFF' amid anti-Semitism row

Countdown star Rachel Riley has bluntly told politician George Galloway to 'f*** off', amid their continuing anti-Semitism row.

Revealing how she's been 'abused' online after accusing the Labour Party of being anti-Semitic, she tweeted, "Thanks to Nick Hewer and everyone else standing shoulder to shoulder with me and so many others, against bullying, and against Antisemitism. It’s so very much appreciated. BeLouder."

TV star Stephen Fry threw his backing behind her, commenting, "I stand with you, Rachel x"

But it wasn't well received by former Celebrity Big Brother star Galloway, who hit back, "Dumbfounding. She calls Chomsky ( or Chomski as she styles him) an anti-Semite and slanders half the Labour Party as the same. 1980’s left-wing comedy icon and all round gent backs...her! #Corbyn #Labour."

To which Rachel - who calls herself a non-religious Jew - swiftly replied, "F*** off George Galloway."

"Today is not the day I'm going to be polite to antisemite scum - to be explicit George Galloway," she added for good measure.

Galloway also took aim at Stephen Fry, questioning, "To be clear stephenfry Are you “standing by” Rachel Riley off Countdown as an arithmetician or because you too consider NoamChomsky (aka Chomski) to be an Anti-Semite?"

Rachel Riley recalls her favourite and most embarrassing moments after 10 years on Countdown

Last year the Oxford University maths graduate revealed how she had been called a "Tory, brainwashed and thick" for criticising Jeremy Corbyn after he was accused of racism.

Mr Corbyn has denied allegations of anti-Semitism and spoke of his "pain" at being called a racist and compared to Enoch Powell during the anti-Semitism row that has ripped through Labour.

Rachel has since published a Ways To Change The World podcast to mark 10 years of Countdown, in which she talks about the abuse she's received.
